Shane Jocumsen for Gympie Regional Council

I am a currently serving my first term as a Councillor in the present Cooloola Shire Council.

I was born and raised in Gympie and have been married to my wife Lisa for the past seventeen years. We have two sons, Ernest and Grant. I value upholding family and Christian values.

Besides being a Councillor, I and my wife own and operate “Remember When Scrapbooking”. In the past, I have been a primary producer, and have also been a manager at Cooloola Milk.

I am a hard worker who is community-minded. I am happy to work as a team player and I strongly believe in ratepayers getting value for their rates dollars.

I believe in working to improve Cooloola’s infrastructure to secure a better, long-term sustainable future, including the maintenance and improvement of rural roads, as well as sport and recreational facilities.

I support the continuance of small towns with their rural lifestyles, and also events such as the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival and the Kilkivan Great Horse Ride.

I support and encourage youth-focussed organisations and programs that work to curb youth problems we are seeing today.

I promise genuine, down-to-earth representation and will be a voice for the people of the new Gympie Region.
